Happy Tuesday! Hope you all had a great long weekend. Today I’m excited to share a tip that is sure to be useful.
A few weeks ago a friend of mine watched me drop a few jewelry pieces into my store-bought jewelry cleaning solution (you know, the blue stuff!) and nearly had a heart attack. She said the most thorough and organic way to clean your jewelry- specifically fine jewelry and diamonds- is to do it the old fashioned way and make your own solution at home! Organic and super easy, this solution spares your most prized possessions from all those harsh chemicals and residual blue tints.
Recipe:
1 part warm water (not boiling), 1 part vodka or rum (any clear alcohol will work). Drop your rings, bracelets, earrings or necklace in the solution. Leave for 15-20 minutes. Once complete, use a toothbrush to brush completely clean and buff for added shine.
Exactly the way you would clean your jewelry with the store-bought solutions, this mix is not damaging and will not leave spots. Now that I know this little trick, there’s no way I’m going back to my old ways. I swear, your jewelry will sparkle as good as new!
